Does anyone have any experience with using a Discover Credit card in Rome. There is no foreign transaction fee, but I don't know if I can use it.

I do not know of any merchant advertising they accept the Discover card.
Discover shares with Diners Club. You can probably use your card at merchants who accept Diners Club. But no guarantees. Probably a good idea to have a no fee Visa or MasterCard just in case.

It is probably less accepted than Am Express. Stick to either a Visa or Mastercard.
