Does anyone know if there are any discounts on rail tickets in Italy, something along the lines of the Lander Tickets in Germany or perhaps some other specials?

There are early purchase discounts available but not like the Lander ticket. But hard to get since the Italian train site does not like Am credit cards. Fortunately the Italian trains are fairly cheap so a discount is not as critical as England or other countries where the rail fare is expensive. Hit the first ticket office in Italy and see what is still available.
