Hi all, will be going on my first short trip to Italy shortly - in June. Visiting Venice, Florence and Rome. With additional very short stops in Pisa, Bologna and Orvieto. A tour (not RS). Looking forward to the culture, architecture, food etc but can anyone point me in the direction of information on designer discount stores please?
Thanks. Katy
Most of the outlet discount centers are outside of towns off the major motorways. If you do not have a car it might be very difficult to reach them. but ck out www.ciaodarling.com a gd listing for stores in Italy.
Outside Florence, there is an outlet called The Mall that's just off the A1 Autostrada on the way to Rome. "Born to Shop Italy" rates it pretty highly & says that you can get tour bus from Florence for about 40€. I you have a car, it will be a lot less expensive. Among the many stores listed by the book are Armani, Burberry, Fendi, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo and La Perla. Their site is www.outlet-the-mall.com Happy shopping!
Also close to The Mall is The Prada Outlet, one of my wife's favorite spots to shop!
