disabled and need advice for rome

I use a walker daily ...the old kind in a U shape; no ping pong balls but 2 slides as well as 2 wheels. I love my husband of 38 years but he wants me to bring 1 walker only whereas I use one with 4 wheels in a V shape With a seat to get over cobblestones, etc.when we go by car. Problem is the 4 wheeler kills my back but I can't stand for long. Suggestions?... We will use private cars some but I will be missing many sites. Grazie p.s. Don't go or get a new husband are not options, ha, ha. Thanks

Carol, a lady named Mary from Arizona is a specialist on accessible Rome - in fact, I think she has a website by that name. Go to slowtrav.com and look for "Rome Addict," or by her feature caled Accessible Rome. Let me check and see if there is contact info for her.

If you go to slowtrav.com and choose Italy at the top, her "Accessible Rome" feature is one of the choices on the page that comes up. I know she uses a wheelchair, and I can also tell you the cobblestones streets are rough on it. But her husband did a great job with it anyway, when we met up with them in Rome several years ago!
