We will be taking the Circumvesuviana train from Pompeii back to Naples and want to go to the museum. Which stop should we get off at and how to get there on the metro? Also is there a day pass on the Circumvesuviana- since we may want to stop off at Herculanum and get back on. Or if we get an artecard online ( which covers the cost of the train)and are arriving at the port in Naples (cruise ship) where is the best place to pick up the card? I hear the kiosk at the train station does not open very early and we would like to get out by 8:30am or so. Anyone done this? Any advice would be appreciated!
Take the Circumvesuviana to the main station and then take the underground to the museum(stops: Piazza Cavour and Museum).

Both the RS books for Italy and for Rome contain detailed information on how to get to the Naples museum. (It's a fascinating museum.) Best wishes!
