How far in advance do I need to make dinner reservations when eating at a restaurant that is small and recommends reservations? Thanks

Hard to answer. They all like reservations so recommending a reservation may not mean much. Also, time of year ?? During summer months will make the reservation the day before. If inflexible about the dining time, then maybe two or three days.
