After the 14 day tour ends, I will be spending one day in Rome. Can anyone suggest a nice place to eat in Rome as I will be on my own. Thanks.
If you don't get any suggestions here, just ask your tour guide. Surely she or he will have some ideas.
Rome is a big place and I am not sending you cross town for a slice of pizza. Where is your hotel? And I would guess that some of your tour mates may be staying over also, so you may not be alone. Are you looking for a white table cloth with candles, final dinner or maybe just a fun place to drink wine and unwind? Or in-between?
La Scala near the Spanish Steps!
ann,
As Frank mentioned, it would help to know where your hotel is located.
As Frank noted, you may find others from the tour who are staying over. Or you may want to return to one of the restaurants from the tour. Your guide and hotel staff will have suggestions, and if Laurel sees your post, she has a list of her favorites.
How about wandering around and finding the most crowded, noisey and non-tourist filled place you can? Get off the main streets (by only a block or two). Avoid 'tourist menu' and 'we speak (7-8 languages)'. I like Trastevere for my last night's splurge. And I like to ask for the chef's special recommendation - or even setting a euro limit and really enjoying a feast! I did that once and just about every table around me offered suggestions and raised their glasses when their selection was brought to me. Talk about fun! Dinner became a party with lots of friends I never knew! Being alone can have one draw back especially if the place is crowded - you can get a less than great table (because of the crowds and not because you are alone!). But the food is still amazing! Plan on being there a long time and you'll have a wonderful last night in Rome!
I heartily recommend both these places, and see you sitting there enjoying either!
Da Giggetto in the Jewish Ghetto area has ambience-- whether sitting inside or out, this is a historic restaurant with an amazing menu--

Settimio All Arancio has traditional Roman cuisine, in a family-run, comfortable yet lovely setting--

Hello. Laurel from Rome here!
Would love to help based on where you are staying, but lacking that info, here is my list.
