Dinner in Rome on Christmas Day

We are arriving in Rome on Christmas Day in the afternoon. Looking for any suggestions for places that may be open for dinner that night. TIA!

You may want to ask your hotel to reserve something for you in advance.

Katie Parla updates this list every year. You will also find many other places open. Christmas Day lunch is actually a bigger deal than dinner, by the way. Lots of families eating out, not just tourists, so reservations are important.

We had a favorite trattoria in Roma that was open Christmas Eve and Day, Antica Taverna. It is west of Piazza Navona and we ate Christmas Eve Dinner there at least 3 times (however not since 2014). It was a fixed price affair at about 45 Euro, all fish/seafood, including wine. Reservations recommended for Christmas. It is the kind of place normal Romans go for dinner, nothing fancy on a normal night. (Do not order the pizza there, though.)

Another place we have eaten on Christmas Day is Il Giardino Romani in the ghetto. Looks like you can reserve online with Quandoo. When we dined there we had reserved but the street was lined with those who had not who hoped to get in.
