Dinner Help in Rome: La Tavernetta 29 da Tony e Andrea is closed during our trip

Hi there: We had planned to go to this restaurant based on forum recommendations. Our hotel just got back to us and unfortunately, they are closed until Dec 1st, so we will miss out this trip. Does anyone have any recommendations of similar type places that we may try? We are open to anywhere in the city but are staying in Trastevere and it will be after a long day at the Vatican. Thanks for any suggestions.

There are so many places in Trastevere that you won't have problems finding one to your liking. Tonnarello, Nannarella, Otello, Carlo Menta, Da Ivo, Dar Poeta, etc. There are so many I can't even remember all. Check also on 'The Fork' or on Google.

I highly recommend the YouTube review video published by The Pasinis (Italian husband, American wife). They reviewed both Cacio e Pepe and Carbonara pastas at several restaurants in Rome. Worth a view. Generally, the Pasinis seem like a pleasant young couple who are knowledgeable about food, especially Italian.
