Hello! I will be in Rome with 2 other friends for New Year's Eve this year. We would like to have dinner somewhere near Piazza Navona and then walk around popular areas as it gets closer to midnight. Can anyone recommend a fun restaurant on or near Piazza Navona that we could make reservations at for New Year's Eve? Thank you!
Its rare you will find me on the Italy forum, but I saw your post and thought I would share that I have spent two New Year Eaves at https://www.facebook.com/ristoranteilcantuccioalsenatoroma/about/ . Fun? Not sure what a what a "fun" restaurant is? Very good food, good service, great location. Good enough to bring me back twice......
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I really appreciate it. I think when I wrote "fun," I wasn't thinking anything specific. More that I was emphasizing 3 friends going to dinner (as opposed to a romantic place for a couple). The place you suggested looks great!
Wasn't sure what a hunnybunny enjoyed.... well.... no, never mind.....
James' suggestion sounds great. Another I like in the Piazza Navona neighborhood is Trattoria da Gino e Pietro, at Via del Governo Vecchio, 106.
My favorite restaurant in that area was Renato e Luisa. Ate there twice this summer, the food is just exquisite and the people were friendly. Of course you'll need reservations that night, but we booked ahead even in the summer.
Edited to add: they have a special NYE fixed menu posted on their website that looks amazing. Choose either the fish menu or the meat menu, €100 pp all included except wine.
