We are travelling from Siena to Orvieto by car & taking the train from Orvieto into Rome (to avoid driving into Rome). We're planning to take a late train & I'm wondering what restaurant suggestions anyone would have for the Orvieto area.

We had a late lunch in Orvieto at I Sette Consoli. It was a five course, two hour lunch so it was actually dinner as well. Lunch runs about 45E pp wo wine but definitely worth the splurge. It was a memorable meal in Italy--one of our best. We do not usually spend this much for lunch. We were there in early April 2006 and the garden dining area was still closed but it looked delightful. You have to reserve and also it is a well hidden restaurant.
