Didn’t receive colosseum tickets

Last night I purchased tickets for the colosseum from the official site (coopculture). I selected the print at home option. Right after I purchased them, I received an email confirming my purchase, like a receipt. However, I did not receive an email with the actual tickets I can print. I looked it up and others have said it took a few hours for them to send, but it’s been over night and I still haven’t received anything. Has this happened to anyone else? If they don’t arrived by today what should I do?

First, check your junk mailbox to see if the email ended up in there.

Second, sit on it a bit longer to see if the email shows up; their ticketing office is REALLY busy.

Thirdly, if you haven't gotten the emailed PDF by tomorrow, contact them at roma@coopculture with your receipt info.

You should have received an email from Coopculture and an email from Unicredit. I think you may have received only the Unicredit email. If so, it should say somewhere in the email either autorizzato (payment accepted) or rifiutato (payment refused).

I recall this being the problem in a similar post a number of months back. In other words the credit card payment may not have gone through for some reason.

Immediately after I purchased the tickets, the credit card company texted me and asked if this was fraud and I said no. Do you think that is why I didn’t receive the tickets yet? I looked and the email does say rifiutato but I thought nothing of it to translate it. Since I confirmed with the credit card company that it was not fraud, do you think I will receive another email that says confirmed? What should I do?

Check your credit card statement online and see if you were charged.

This just happened when my boyfriend and I tried to purchase tickets. I made one purchase, that was confirmed, and I got an email from UniCredit and an email from the Colosseum shortly thereafter. However, he got an email from UniCredit stating rifiutato. We contacted his bank and CoopCulture. While the bank could tell us why it was marked as rifiutato by UniCredit, there was no pending, or actual, charge. On the end of CoopCulture, they confirmed that nothing ever processed after he forwarded the email, the gentleman looked into both the confirmation/booking number and his name. Those tickets never, ever processed and, I presume, were re-released for others (not us) to purchase. My guess, based on this, is that you didn't actually receive a charge or complete the purchase, so you won't ever get the email with the tickets. Hoping you have better luck than we did, though!

I looked and the email does say rifiutato...

Oops, that is a significant piece of info that likely could change things. That's why online translation tools can be useful! Let us know what shakes out?

Called the credit card company and no transaction went through. Told them to not cancel our orders because we’ll be making a few more purchases in Italy. Tried again and luckily they had the correct time and date still open. This time the order was approved and the tickets were emailed immediately. Thanks for the help!

It helps to contact your credit card company right before you place an online order in another country to prevent a payment being refused.

When I get those emails from my credit card, they usually say "thanks, try the transactions again" meaning it did not go through. Glad you were able to figure things out.
