Did I just buy the wrong Colosseum tickets?

Help! I went onto the following sight and bought 2 FULL EXPERIENCE Entrance + Undegrounds" tickets that didn't have the grey "Guided Visit" text box on it.

I just read Kathy's response from a different thread (entitled "Need help interpreting Coop Culture website to book Colosseum tickets" that said not to buy this type of ticket unless you are a guide. Have I made a mistake? Will they let my husband and I in to explore on our own without a guide?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you bought the Full Experience ticket that was NOT labeled "Guided Visit" (top of the linked page) you unfortunately bought the wrong ticket. That one is for people bringing their own licensed guide or for guides themselves. The underground isn't accessible without a tour so no, you wouldn't be allowed inside to wander around on your own.

The tour you were probably wanting to book was directly underneath that first option on the page and is labeled "FULL EXPERIENCE Entrance + Underground English Tour." Underground tickets sell out very, very quickly when becoming available so depending on when you're going to Rome, this tour may or may not already be booked up for your dates.

Shucks.......but thanks so much for that info Kathy. I'd better get my bifocals out to read the fine print to see if I can get any of my money back. The tour you suggested ( listed directly under the one I booked) would be the one I'd like but unfortunately it's sold out. Thanks anyways Kathy!

... you saw the post about having another crack at underground tour tickets on April 2nd? Doesn't mean you can get a refund on the tickets you'd already purchased - you'd have to contact them about that - but you've another shot at getting the tickets you want. Also, keep checking the website for tickets popping up due to cancellations.

I read over the fine print and unfortunately there are no refunds. I will try again on April 2nd. Thanks for all your help Kathy!
