Did I book the correct Colosseum tickets?

So I am on CoopCulture, and I booked two kinds of tickets:

Underground and third ring Italian Tour+Reservation Fee
07/06/2016 10:20:00
3 11.00 € 33.00 €

Free entrance + audio-video guide + reservation fee - gCollect from 08.30 to 1 hour before closing
07/06/2016 08:30:00
3 8.00 € 24.00 €

I intend on using a Roma pass for entrance. So I booked the Free Entrance + audio/video guide. Is it correct? My understanding is that I go there, show the reservation email to the guard, get to skip the line. Does anyone know if I pick up the audio/video guide and underground tickets at the same time?

Thanks

Yes, you can pick them both up at the same time. I'm not sure the audio guide has any information specifically about the underground areas.

You skip the ticket line but have to wait and go through the security line. And it is for June 7th

Wendy, are you wanting this just for some background before you go? You understand that the underground/third ring is a guided tour, right?

Hi Kathy,

Since the english tour was all booked up, I ended up booking the Italian tour, but I barely speak one word of italian. So just wondering if there's good audio/books on the underground portion of the colosseum. When I google "colosseum underground", all I see are tours and tours...

Ah, that makes sense now, Wendy. I'm not aware of any audio materials for specifically this portion but maybe someone else does. You might try your local library or bookshop for an in-depth volume on the entire structure? I bought one at the Colosseum bookshop itself but you might find something closer to home.

There are no audio guides that I know of for the underground tour. If you do the research on the construction and history of the structure you should understand what you're seeing, or at least be able to figure it out. The audio guides should give you some good information on the structure and I would arrive early so that you can listen/watch them before your tour. Then after the tour I would use them again as it will make it more clear as to what you've just seen.
