Did Anyone Stay at the Hotel Bristol in Sorrento? Any other Recommendations for Staying in Sorrento?

We are considering this hotel which seems to have terrific views, large rooms and near to the city center. I know folks have recommended Il Nido but i just prefer to be closer to the "action" :-) And closer to tour pickups.

This hotel is above town - with amazing views of the entire Bay of Naples. The shuttle bus service is excellent, the food is (imho) the best in Sorrento. I think tour pickups might actually come to the hotel - not sure, I don't use them. il Nido ilnido.it I stay here for a week every June - number 10 or 11 coming up.

Been to Sorrento once; stayed at Il Nido. Did not feel 'left out'; would happily stay there again

We had heard all of the great things about Il Nido and the paths to walk down into Sorrento.

But we chose Hotel Minerva - the breakfasts were awesome, the terrace was expansive, we had sweeping views of the bay, and we walked into town every night on the sidewalk.

I don't think you can go wrong anywhere.....

Yes, we stayed at the Hotel Bristol for 5 nights in March 2017. We had rooms with a balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples, with Vesuvius directly across the water. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and quiet. The balcony was nice because on several afternoons before dinner, we sat outside, sipped some wine, and enjoyed the view. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It was about 15-minute downhill walk to the center of Sorrento. We never took a cab coming or going (there was no shuttle at that time); walked every day. I highly recommend this hotel, which was very highly rated on booking.com and Trip Advisor. You will not be disappointed -- but get a room with a balcony and view of the Bay. Lastly, we discovered a great seafood restaurant in the nearby Marina Grande -- Taverna Azzurra. Ate there twice. The crab ravioli was amazing.
