Diabetic syringes

In the past I've responded to posts about traveling with diabetic supplies, but now I have a question. Are syringes available over-the-counter in a pharmacy in Italy; that is, without a local prescription?

Most Italian pharmacies are run by doctors who can prescribe so I think you can get syringes without a prescription, but to be sure you should check with the international association for dianetes.
