After taking a walk yesterday through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele ll where Milan’s original 1913 “Prada” store is located, I serendipitously ended up going to the Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery. The front entrance to the gallery was completely sealed off so scenes for the upcoming “The Devil Wears Prada 2” movie could be filmed.
Police directed visitors to the museum to a makeshift entrance around the back of the gallery.
While visual screens were set up to keep the public from viewing the filming and sections of the museum’s exhibits were sealed off, spectators could still see bright lights and camera equipment through the screens. There also were dozens off limousines with blackened windows in the streets surrounding the Brera museum. Didn’t get to see Meryl Streep , Stanley Tucci, Emily Blunt— or many sections of the Brera museum, for that matter— as Hollywood descended on the art museum.
Museum employees weren’t at liberty to say what all the ruckus was about but one confided “It’s Hollywood!”
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled for release in April 2026.
