Hi everyone! We are looking to book a holiday in early September and would love some suggestions of places to stay for a week. We'd like to relax by a pool, enjoy the scenery and Italian cuisine, somewhere that we can walk around the local town and restaurants and preferably near the coast or a lake not too far from an airport as we won't have a car. Last year we went to Garda and loved it. Our ideal accommodation is a self catering aparthotel. I've looked at the Amalfi coast but it is very expensive and not many places have pools. Any recommendations? Thank you!
I haven't been, but what about somewhere like Ischia? You can get there on the ferry from Naples, so I think can do without a car. Close to Amalfi, and there are the Thermal Pools and I think you may have more hotels with pools.
Hi there! I'd recommend Sardinia - it checks all the boxes. Especially places like Alghero (a beautiful historic town, walkable, full of restaurants and shops, and right by the sea) and Cagliari (the capital in the south, a bit more urban but with a charming old town and easy beach access)
Thank you both for your suggestions :)
