I am a very budget minded traveler and have stayed at Hotel Cervia Roma twice. While not fancy, the people are fairly nice, the access to the train station is good and the area seems a bit less sketchy that some of the areas around the station. They look to have rooms available during that time but they arent as cheap as they would be if reservations made earlier. I assume you have tried the beehive already?

Hotel.info has a triple room at Hotel Impero for 40 Euro per night for your dates. Oddly enough the double room is 3 times that price so it's probably a typo. Personally I would jump on that opportunity.

Last summer we found the b&b Armonio All' Opera across the street from the Roma Opera House. I found it on venere.com and we were very pleased with the accommodation. venere.com and tripadvisor offer map locations and client reviews. Both are highly reputable.
