In August our 8 person travel group will have a 6 hour layover in Desenzano prior to boarding a train for Verona late afternoon . We’d like to explore the town area by the lake and perhaps take the boat to Sirimione.

Keep in mind it is a small hike from the train station to the boats. I would recommend locating a storage facility close to the station as the route back up the hill with luggage will be a drag (pun intended). There are a couple of hotels close to the station and on the route to the lake that you could contact in advance to see about storage. Ferries depart about every 45 minutes during season from Sirimione to Desenzano, 20 minute ride.
