Departing Italy - Where is Passport Stamped?

Hello!

I am going to Italy this summer and have a quick question about departing the country.

I will be leaving from Florence (FLR) for Washington DC (IAD), with a 2 hour layover in Rome (FCO). This is all booked on one ticket.

FLR -> FCO -> IAD

Will I get my passport stamped for leaving Italy in Florence or Rome? Just want to make sure I'm allowing enough time in Rome if it has to happen there.

Thank you!

Your flight to Rome is consider domestic. In Rome you will go through exit immigration

Great, thank you both! That's what I was thinking, so I appreciate the confirmation.

Does anyone have experience with this at FCO? Will 2 hours be enough time to go through immigration and make the connection?

Since it is one ticket, they will get you through. Exit immigration can be a little slow but your luggage will be checked through if you are checking luggage.

I flew from FLR to FCO then back to the States a couple years ago. Even with a nearly 3 hour layover, I zero downtime at FCO because the flight from Florence was late (no weather issues, either). My friend flew back a couple says before me and had the same issue. We took a bus from the plane to passport control, since it was a small plane, then had to get to our gate. Since your flights are part of one ticket, you should be ok. But it's possible that you won't have much downtime in FCO. Hope this is helpful.
