Declaration of Presence - Arriving from Paris

We are flying from Paris to Venice and the AirBnB we are staying at is requesting our Declaration of Presence during check in. I am not finding much information on where I can get these coming from the airport to the island. Anyone have current experience with this?

Thanks

Seems that the host would have this document that you fill out (with passport info) when you arrive and they hand it in to the local police.

I had the same experience when I rented an apartment in Barcelona. Upon entering the apartment the host presented a simple form to fill out that included passport info. It is normal and nothing to worry about.

We've filled these in when renting apartments in Venice recently. Our VRBO host emailed it to me, I scanned it back as a completed document and he filed it with the authorities. Other than the 10 minutes it took to fill out it had no impact on our stay.

According to a 2007 law, the declaration of presence module must be filled by the foreigner only:

  1. If you are staying more than 7 days (are you?)
  2. If you are Coming from a Schengen country (check)
  3. If you Staying at a private house with friends or family (hotels and authorized B&Bs either register their customers' data on a specific police webpage or fax passports)

Out of curiosity, did they ask you to pay in cash?

We are staying in Paris for 5 days and then flying to Venice. It is my understanding that they will not be stamping the passports when we arrive in Venice. We are staying in Italy for 12 days in various Cities, traveling by train. We arranged our accommodations through AirBnB and are paying via credit card. We stay in a couple hotels along the way, but the Venice stay is an AirBnB in the Dorsoduro District. The owner of the unit specifically stated we needed to provide that document. We can message them and see if they can help us out in any way, but am anticipating we might need to do it ourselves and if so how we do that.
