Is it possible to get in Italy???
PS Or rather decaf espresso!
Generally, yes. you would order
Caffè Hag (the HAG is pronounced AHG, the H is silent)
Hag is the brand name of the largest producer of decaf coffee in Italy.
You can also say caffe decafinato.
Awesome, thanks!
I don't know your particular reason for wanting decaf, but personally, a lot of caffeine just makes me feel gross. I was worried my first time in Italy, but consider two things: the darker roast the beans, the less caffeine there is. Thus, you have less caffeine in espresso than regular medium-roast american drip coffee. Also keep in mind that a shot of espresso (or the espresso in a cappuccino) is only one shot - or about an ounce and a half, so you are not really drinking that much. I never felt any impact of the espresso in Italy and I had a cappuccino every morning!
