In your experience, would I be able to split a day between Naples (archeological museum, lunch) and Capri (not going to blue grotto)? Or, maybe a day split between Amalfi Coast and Capri? Would there be enough time for either scenario? Thanks.
In my opinion either of these scenarios would put you on such a tight schedule that you'd wind up not enjoying any of these great places. You'd feel like a contestant on The Amazing Race.
Thanks, Tom. That's exactly the kind of information I need (not that I would mind winning the million on The Amazing Race!).
I agree in that it would be too much to actually soak in and enjoy. It could be possible if the transportation/commutes are precise, but even then it would be quite brief and rushed. Spend the day on Capri. Spend a day exploring the Amalfi coast. Spend a day in the museum and exploring the rest of Naples (the museum alone can be handled in half a day though). I think it would at least take that much time to truly appreciate each of the three locations you mentioned.
Christine, "not that I would mind winning the million on The Amazing Race!" I wonder how much the winners get to keep after the I.R.S. gets their share? BTW, I was happy that the two Doctors won the latest Amazing Race. They seemed really nice. The new series in February should be really interesting (I'm hoping the Cowboys win that one, as they deserved to win last time they were in the race).
Thanks for the information, everyone. Go Nat and Kat!! I was glad to see them win, not just because they were the first female team, but because they really were one of the nicest teams ever on the Race! Thanks again.
I would SO give up both other spots for a lovely overnighter on the Isle of Capri!! Naples is a zoo on steroids! The Amalfi Coast can be seen when you take the hydrofoil back to the mainland from Capri: take it to Positano and then catch the bus north to Naples (train to next destination) ~ seeing the coast from the bus (as Rick Steves describes it) is excellent & also kills two birds with one stone! Capri is SO worth an overnighter at least!! And, if at all possible, do an island boat trip that includes the Blue Grotto ~ great experience and AWESOME photos from the boat around the island!! We stayed at La Tosca ~ get info online for Capri lodging ~ worth it!!
Christine, I agree, they are one of the nicest teams on all of the Amazing Race shows. As one of them is Diabetic, I was VERY impressed that they managed so well, as I'm sure it was difficult to keep the blood sugar stable with erratic meals, periods of intense exercise, etc. Really looking forward to the next edition!
