I am based in the small town of Sovico, outside of Monza, vicino di Milano. Looking for some day trips. Have just returned from Livigno after taking Bernia Express. Also have tripped to Como and also Varenna, Lago di Como. Also Lago Maggiore for Santa Caterina del Sasso e Rocca Borremeo. Also have done Milano. Heading to Sorrento for few days next week, but want to make good use of time in between and after. And without a car! Grazie a tutti, MDD

Thanks, Ralph, Bologna is a good idea. I was there in 1010 but very briefly, so there is much I would like to explore.
Re:Monza, did not know that detail, however I am walking in the Parco di Monza, and it is beautiful. Of course avoided during Formula One! Grazie mille, Margaret

Actually, Senna died at Imola, during the San Marino Grand Prix. It was a horrific weekend for Formula 1, as another driver besides Senna was also killed and another seriously injured.
