Day Trips from Venice

Hello, I am taking a Mediterranean Cruise that ends in Venice. We will be staying at the Westin Europa Regina for 2 nights. We would like to spend a full day exploring Venice and are wondering if we can do a day trip on day two. Any suggestions? I am going with a friend and she mentioned a place called Lake Garda. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well there's always Murano and Burano that's easily done on your own. Just hop on a vaporetto and go. But there really is a lot to see in Venice so you might actually want to spend your 2 days just staying in Venice.

I would definitely visit Burano. This can easily be done in half a day. It's an easy boat ride from Venice. It's a nice little island to walk around. It's very quaint with its brightly painted houses.

I'd spend the 2 days in Venice too. Murano was nice if you like glass, haven't been to Burano. But there's enough to do in Venice (if you do a little shopping :) ) to fill 2 days!

I also would plan to stay in Venice. On day one Make a reservation for the Doges Palace secret itinaries tour(hotel will do it)then visit St.Marks.Spend the rest of the day exploring Venice. Then on day 2 get a 24 hr. Vaporatto pass and cruise to Murano and Burano and also the Grand Canal.Venice has plenty for 2 days.

Stay in Venice! There is so much to explore there. Get the Vaparetto pass - One of our best days was the day we got off at each stop, explored, got back on, got off at the next one... So very much to see.

Thank you so much for all the feedback. I think we are going to stay put in Venice and just get the Vaporetto pass to explore all of Venice. Thank you.

Smart choice. Definitely stay in Venice and explore. There's plenty to see and do.

Also, I think the best part of the day in Venice is nighttime! Sitting in San Marco Plaza listening to the dueling orchestras, walking around the little streets and piazzas (yes, it's safe! I go by myself), sitting outside at a cafe...
