Hi!! does anybody here have done day trip to Sorrento bit won’t be going back to Rome. We plan on staying at Sorento after the tour. And can we bring our luggage to the bus? TIA!!
Which day trip tour?
Why not just travel to Sorrento on your own?
I don’t see why you’d need a “ tour” to Sorrento
If you are travelling from Rome to stay in Sorrento, then it isn't a day trip, and would not need to book a tour. If you want to take a bus, there are direct buses from the Tiburtina bus station that take 4 1/2 hrs.
Or you could take a fast train from the Termini train station to Naples in an hour, then either change to the Circumvesuviana train or hire a car and driver for the hour to Sorrento.
I highly doubt there are day tours to Sorrento because it's more of a base to take day tours from. As said above your best bet is a train to Naples and then the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, or hire a driver from Naples to Sorrento which will cost about €150. The Circumvesuviana train will cost about €4.
The reason why we want tondo a day trip is because we also want to tour amalfi coast and pompeii. The day tour includes pompei, Amalfi coast and Sorento(last). We are staying in Sorento for a few days then we’ll head to Sicily. I guess my question is, do tour buses allow luggages? Couldn’t get a hold of the company. Do you guys have any recommendations?
The day trip you propose is not possible. The infrastructure south of Naples has been sadly neglected. There is no quick nor efficient manner to move around, neither via public nor private transportation. Traffic congestion is legendary. The area is a victim of its Instagram success; the behind the scenes realities are not shown. Pompeii is a wonderful but exhausting day trip by itself. The AC is a nine hour car/ bus day trip by itself. Perhaps do a little more research and decide what your priorities are.
The area is beautiful, but comes with its downsides. Safe travels.
I don’t think a day trip tour bus would take kindly to you using them as your one way transportation
You should plan to travel to Sorrento as explained above then visit Pompeii and Amalfi on your own or consider a shared tour with Mondo Guides
