I am staying 3 days in Sorrento. One day I will have a driver take me to Positano and then I plan to take the ferry back. The driver wrote me and asked where I want to be dropped off. So what do I say to that? Thanks.

It's been years since we were in Positano, but as I recall cars are not allowed in the lower part of town. Our driver (from Naples airport) dropped us off at a landing just above the lower part of town. Or, there's a bus stop on the main road that would be a convenient drop off point. It's an easy walk down to the main part of town and the beaches.
