Day Trip to Como - From Luzern

Hello all, my family will be in Switzerland this June (2 year old and 5 year old). We will be in Lucerne, and we would love to spend one day in the Como area. We plan to take the early train, arriving in Como before 11:00 in the morning.

We probably will eat an early dinner in Lugano to break up the trip on the way back. So we should have 5-6 hours in the Como area.

What activities, towns, etc. do you recommend we see and do for the short period of time. We are open to anything (parks, short hikes, playgrounds, boat rides, good food and gelato, etc...).

Hey Mike,

How are you buddy, I would advise you visit to the main towns in the Como area such as Varenna and Bellagio in those 5 to 6 hours. Take the opportunity to visit Villa Monastero in Varenna and walk the promenade Riva Grande that has a picturesque view of the lake. For Bellagio, visit the Melzi gardens for a stroll and visit Basilica de San Giacomo. If you have time you can visit Punta Spartivento, which is a park in Bellagio with nice views overlooking lake Como.
