day trip to Cascia, Italy?

My husband and I are semi self touring Venice, Florence, Sorrento and Rome in April with a lot of free time built in. Most plans are made but would like to see St. Rita's memorial in Cascia, is it a short trip? closest to what city? Thanks for your help.

The closest town is Spoleto, from where there is regular bus service. I understand that the building housing the church in Cascia is architecturally unattractive. By contrast, nearby Norcia is a real gem. Nevertheless, Cascia is a very significant place of worship for St. Rita.
