I'm currently on the Best of Venice, Florence, and Rome tour. After it ends I'd like to take a day trip to Assisi from Rome with round trip bus service and a guided tour included. Could anyone recommend some good companies that do this? Any relevant websites would be appreciated.

May i suggest that you take the train for the day trip, much faster and hire a guide who is from Assisi.

Train isn't fast. The best would be 7.58 a.m. from Termini, takes 2.25 hours, then you have to wait for the bus from the train station up to the town. Then it's the 6.17 p.m. train back to Rome, 2.25 hours - but you have to allow time to get the bus (somewhat erratic schedule) and down to the station. Seems like a guided tour out of Rome wouldn't be any longer - and with a guide, you don't get lost or waste time getting oriented.
