Hello! We are going to go to Vizzini following our Sicily Tour which ends in Catania. There doesn’t appear to be a train on our day of travel, and the price of a private driver is fairly expensive. Does anyone have experience with taxi service and/or car rental? We could rent a car at the Catania Airport for the day. We were wondering if there are recommendations for car rental companies to use? Thanks in advance!

AziendsSicilianaTrasporti.it has several buses a day between Catania and Vizzini, though quite possibly none on Sunday. Worth checking, though. If you can travel even one way by bus, it should reduce the cost of a taxi by eliminating the driver's waiting time in Vizzini or one of the two otherwise-necessary round-trips. The distance is 51 miles one way, which would mean a somewhat-costly taxi ride, even in Sicily.

When are you travelling? I have made a check on trenitalia.com entering some random days in July and August: on working days Trenitalia runs two buses from Catania Centrale to Vizzini-Licodia. The first bus departs at 14:08, the second at 19:15. On Sundays the departure hours from Catania are 9:10 and 15:00.
The double name makes me think that Vizzini-Licodia is a station in the countryside, halfway between Vizzini and Licodia. You'd better look it up.
