Hi, when we went to the Dolomites, we took the train and stayed overnight a few days. It’s such a beautiful area to enjoy! I’m replying because I wanted to let you know that Viator is just a middleman company that sells other business’ tours. If possible, it’s best to deal directly with the business who will be taking you there - usually cheaper for both the real business & you, plus you get all of the details upfront.
This one might be what you’re wanting. There’s a nice video on their site to show what you will be seeing during their tour.

If your only option is a day tour to see the Dolomites, then go for it. But I'd recommend 2-3 days minimum in the region if you can swing it. With a day trip, you risk ending up visiting on a day when it's cloudy/rainy thus poor visibility in the mountains.
Hello
It depends on where you are going in the Dolomites, as you could spend most of the time in the car/van/bus driving back and forth! Just because it is a short distance, doesn’t mean you are traveling at high speeds. Some of the roads are full of switchbacks and your speed won’t be over 35 mph. We were in Ortisei for 6 days and didn’t come close to seeing it all and we only stayed in the Val Gardena. Think about if you were in Venice and wanted to go to the Vatican for the day, its doable but not necessarily enjoyable.
