We will be in Rome for 3 days in July and given that we were there in 2018 and hit the major touristy things (Vatican, Colosseum, Forum, Steps, Fountain, etc.,) last time we were thinking of doing a day trip outside the city. We know the ruins around Pompeii are an options, but are there any quaint towns that are worth visiting that are a short train ride away (an hour or so)? My wife is looking for something like Siena.
We're four adults ranging in age from 20-60 and are able to walk around.
Thank you!
