Hi all, I have purchased tickets on Italo that I can no longer use for the destination planned so I’m trying to put them to use elsewhere. Any suggestions for an easy train ride from Rome for a day trip? Maybe a more quiet rustic town to be a little more leisurely? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
Orvieto would be an hour train ride.
I have heard a lot about this area and it sounds beautiful. I don’t think any trains from Italo go there. Would it be a regional train? Is there a website?
If I understand your question correctly, you've purchased Italo tickets from Rome to another city and are asking if you can use them for a day trip to a "quiet rustic town". It would help if you tell us what destination city you purchased. Italo only runs high-speed train between larger cities, but that doesn't prevent you from hopping off some where along the way and going to a nearby "quiet rustic town". Without knowing the destination city, I can only offer suggestions for towns that wouldn't allow you t use the Italo tickets, which I presume are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
Yes I bought two tickets on Italo for Rome to Naples. We were going to go to Capri but it was too much. So we are looking for something a little more subdued for the day.
Why not visit Naples? Isn’t quiet or rustic but is very worthwhile and you have the tickets.
Yeah I’m not really wanting to spend the day in Naples. It was just a stop along the way. I think we are going to try Orvieto as I mentioned but I will have to buy new train tickets unfortunately.
