Day trip from Port of Livorno during cruise

Hello! My family of 3 (with our 11 year old) will be stopping on the Disney Cruise in July 2025 at the Port of Livorno. That day is a Monday, so I realized going to Florence would not make sense as all the museums are closed. The other options are going to Pisa/Lucca or to Cinque Terre. We are going to get a private tour guide/company. I really want to see the tower of Pisa and would only stay about an hour there. Does anyone have recommendations on whether Lucca would be nice after or go to Cinque Terre. We have 12 hours docked from 7am-7pm, but would like to be back on the boat at 5 to be safe. We really want to eat pizza, pasta, gelato. I am torn because I love the picturesque town of CT, but its pretty far and Lucca seems a little boring--but could be very nice as I've read. I know they have easy bike riding there, but in July will be really hot. Anywhere to swim on a beach?

The next and final port stop will be Rome where we will see the major sites and maybe do a cooking class. That's coming from Barcelona and back to BCN by the way ;) Thanks for any help!

I think only the Uffizi and the Accademia (David) are closed on Mondays in Florence. All other 40+ museums in the city are open.
The train journey to Florence is about 1.5 hours. To Lucca about 1 hour. To Cinque Terre over 2.5 hours, unless there is a fast train available at the time you make it to the station, then you can make it in less than 2 hours or so.

July is superhot, so getting to the beach would be nice, especially with an 11 y.o. who probably doesn't give a damn about frescoes and statues. There are nice beach towns nearer to Livorno, such as pretty Castiglioncello, just south of Livorno, or the larger Viareggio (to the north, not far north of Pisa). In terms of pretty towns I think Lucca is prettier than Pisa, and actually you could easily to both Lucca and Pisa on the same day. Just go to Lucca first, which is farther, then on the way back visit the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa. Since you don't have luggage and therefore don't need luggage storage, from Lucca to Pisa use the Pisa San Rossore station which is closer to the leaning tower and the duomo. It is best to do Pisa last, because in case you are really pressed for time, you can also take a taxi from Pisa to Livorno port, It's more expensive than the train, but in 20 min the taxi will drop you at the cruise ship.

Thank you. We are hiring a private driver/tour guide from a company. I could ask about any beach trips along the way.
