I am contemplating spending a day in Verona. It looks like it's only a one hour train ride from Milan. Any opinions? suggestions? Itineraries??
Thank you!
It is an easy train trip and I think you can get a good overview in a day. Rick Steves' Italy guide has a self-guided walk that takes about 2 hours.
Thank you Laurel!
There are frequent urban buses leaving in front of the station and passing in front of the Arena, sparing you the fairly long walk from the station to the centre. Bus tickets are sold at the tobacconist at the station.
Thank you Lachera! I will check into that with the hotel concierge. Much appreciated!!

If you run out of things to see in Verona from there go to Vicenza 30 minutes away where it is less crowded and touristy.
