Hi to everyone
Is it possible to make a day of it in Florence, going from La Spezia by train? Any suggestions or advice.

It's a 5.0hr. round trip on the train but a day trip is quite doable. It's just a long day.
CLICK HERE to see a typical morning train schedule. There are earlier trains as well. Unless you are on the Eurostar where seat reservations are required, no reserverations are needed on the R, IC or ICPlus trains. As an option, you can get seat reservations on the IC or ICPlus trains for 3Euro at the train station.
