My husband, MIL and myself will be making our first trip to Italy in March. We plan to make Florence our home base while in Tuscany and take a few day trips into the countryside and/or another town such as Lucca. I would love to visit an agritourismo where we could tour the vineyard, olive grove or what have you and have a family style farm-to-table lunch as one of our excursions (like Rick does in his show!). Somewhere not terribly far from Florence but where we can still get our eyefill of the Tuscan countryside. We prefer to hire a driver or private tour guide rather than join a group tour. Does anyone have a suggestion for a particular agritourismo they just loved and/or tour guide that would fit the bill for a day trip?
