My husband and I ( physically fit seniors) are interested in a day trip from Florence to Cinque Terre in mid to late April, 2015. Has anyone taken Viator's Day Trip from Florence or Hiking Day Trip? Any other suggestions for companies to use? We'd love to spend a night or two in one of the villages; however, it just isn't going to happen on this trip. Thanks!
I've not taken this trip, but I've used Viator before in England, France and Holland a few years ago and really enjoyed them. They are what they advertise. I'll be using them again this year in Holland, France and Scotland this spring. Read the reviews on the day trip you plan so you have a good idea of what it includes and what it doesn't.
Have fun in Italy!

The travel time is long enough so you end up with limited time on the ground doing the hikes and other outdoor things you want to do in Cinque Terre.
Hi Helen,
We used another tour company called "Shore Excursions in Italy" we were referred to by some friends of ours who used it before. It really was the best way to visit the Cinque Terre Area from Florence since going there by train we should have change it different times. We were picked up right in front of our hotel and after an almost 2 hours drive we got there stopping at the first village Riomaggiore where we could relax in a nice coffee place in the centre. We were driven then to 2 more villages Corniglia and Vernazza and on the way back we stopped at Manarola. Came back to Florence in the late afternoon but for sure that was the way to go!!
Have a good time there!!
It's too long for a day trip. If you want to see the CT then just hop on the train and be delivered right into the center of Monterossa or Vernazza or which ever town you prefer. There's definitely no need to give money to a middle man to take you there.
