day trip from Cinque Terre

I am trying to decide between a day trip to Porto Venere or Santa Margherita Ligure from Vernazza. Any suggestions?

Both are wonderful, beautiful small cities, large towns. Can't go wrong.

I would have a small preference for Porto Venere, but both are small, you might have time to do both
