We are spending our last full day in Assisi tomorrow. We've been to Todi, Montefalco, Bevagna and Assisi. We have a car and are wondering how to best spend our last day: Perugia, Spello, Trevi, or Gubbio?
Also, driving to Firenza for a week. What town should we hit on the way there? We don't like driving more than an hour for day trips from a home base. Thank for any suggestions.
Go to Spello and walk the aqueduct trail to Collepino. Have lunch at Taverna San Silvestro in Collepino and walk back. If you look the restaurant up on Tripadvisor I have a detailed review dated 3 April that explains how to do the walk. If you don't want to do that I wkuld go to Gubbio. Make sure to ride thr funicular while there.
On the way to Florence you can stop in Cortona and Arezzo.
Thank you for your help. We did hike to Collepino and then spent 3 hours at Taverna San Silvestri. The food was amazing and we were treated with some spontaneous entertainment by a family of musicians and actors. It was our favorite day in Umbria.
Glad you enjoyed it too Joan. We loved it.
