Day trip Firenze to Pisa

I’m planning to be in Firenze 6 nights of next month, and was thinking about day trips, including Pisa. Monday, 4/22 is my only totally free day, but a Pisa museum I want to see (San Matteo) is not open on Mondays. On the 23rd, 24th, and 26th, I have tickets for the Uffizi, Accademia, and Santa Croce, each for 10:00 a.m. I think getting in Pisa on any of those days would be squeezing it too tight. That leaves the 25th, on which I have a Giotto Pass for the Duomo at 5:15 p.m. if I left for Pisa early, took in the Field of Miracles, then the San Matteo museum, then back to Firenze, would that work ok?

If you leave early enough (before 8am) you can be on Piazza dei Miracoli by 9:30am.
If you can see everything and be back to the Pisa Centrale station by 2:30pm, you can take the 2:32pm Regionale Veloce back to Florence and be at SMN by 3:08pm. From there you can be at the Duomo in 20 min.
There are 3 to 5 trains every hour in each direction, but some are faster than others (some make many stops).
Piazza dei Miracoli is about 30 min walk from Pisa Centrale (or less by bus or taxi), but you can also take the train all the way to Pisa Rossore, which is closer (but I don't think you'll save much time).
The museum is along the Arno river, more or less half way (20 min walk from the Piazza dei Miracoli, and 20 min walk from the station).
Give yourself about 2.0 hours for the Piazza and about 1.5 to 2 hours for the museum, and you can easily make it.

"still looks like there plenty of trains, though."

Just by putting the trip into trenitalia, those trains are all regionale. That means they can't sell out. Meaning, if you can squish onto the train you can take it. I believe I had a regionale trip on April 25th in 2019, and good thing we got on at the first stop, it was full shortly thereafter. I would make sure to be early for the train for a better chance of getting a seat :)
