Day tour in Sicily

Does anyone have a suggestion for a day tour out of Palermo, Sicily? We are interested in touring Suggesta/Erice vs. Agrigento?

Segeste is beautiful. We enjoyed it the most if all the Greek sites we visited in Sicily. It’s an easy drive from Palermo and you could easily add in Erice and the salt flats bear Trapani. If you like walking consider Zingaro / it’s s beautiful 7km linear walk with lots of pretty beach coves. It and Segeste would make a nice outing.

Agrigento is a 2 hr drive in different direction making for a long day.

Segesta is beautiful and visits to Erice and Trapani are well worth it but...my personal choice would be to take the time to visit the magnificent ruins and excellent museum in Agrigento. The Valley of the Temples is one of the best preserved Greek archaeological sites in the world. The driving time to Agrigento or Segesta/Erice is about the same.

What this really asks is the experience one is looking for and whether you have a car. We picked up a car on leaving Naples for our 2 week saunter around the island.

Agrigento for sure if you are really into Greek; the museum is excellent. Also am guessing one can do as an organized trip so if no car it’s ideal. It’s much much more crowded with visitors.

We liked Segeste more because of the setting and for us one temple enough .... it’s much less crowded and a nice walk up the hill to a beautiful vista from the amphitheatre. We really like to walk so this coupled with Zingaro was a perfect outing but you need a car. Erice is very nice but if you have seen one hilltop town ...

Fortunately there is no wrong choice!
