Cyprus to Italy Flight recommendation

We are attending a wedding in Cyprus in late May and plan to travel to Italy immediately after. Looking for best flight recommendations from either airport in Cyprus to either airport in Rome. One that works for us is LCA to FCO on Serbian Air with one stop in Belgrade. Any red flags? Another option is flying from the airport at Paphos to Rome CIA... that flight is direct but late on Sunday night and a 2+ hr drive from Nicosia to the airport. Not finding any other reasonable options. any advice is much appreciated!

From a purely geographical point of view, Aegean via Athens seems like a good option.
