Cycling in the Dolomites

I'll be visiting south tyrol in late September with my son (celebrating his 40th)...one of his bucket list items is to cycle in the Dolomites, the other is Oktoberfest.
Anyway....what would be a good starting point for a one day cycle experience...things like bike rental, access to trails etc
1. Bolzano
2. Merano
3. Klastelruth

We will train from Venice to ? Then train from ? to munich
Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I think that you will need to train for a longer time than that to be able to cycle in the Dolomites. It's really mountainous.

Something that can be helpful is to look at cycling tours just to get a sense of itineraries. Then google for cycle shops.
Good luck!

It's a beautiful area and I've biked it. Suggestion: view various bike trips, included self-guided versions, at bike tours dot com, a company based in America. Staff are great, so talk with them. Note that not all trips are listed on that website. Find the underlying tour operator of a somewhat similar tour and learn if there are suitable variations. Then book through the firm I noted.

I was there in September 2021 and there was a cycling tournament. It'd be fun if you are into this. I am not sure what's it called but it's a big event.

What type of terrain: for mountain bike? for road bike? Major uphill? Flat along river valleys?
There are many options depending on where you are staying and your level of experience and fitness.
The Isarco river valley bike path along the Isarco river from Bolzano (Bozen) to Bressanone (Brixen) is popular.
This is what it looks like in this image. It's pretty flat.
