Old villages in Northern Italy

I'm looking for villages to visit in Northern Italy by car. Any recommendations?

I wouldn't call it a village - but Lucca is a small town that I really LOVE.
Lake Orta is another small town/village that I found very charming and enjoyed my 3 days there - very relaxing.

Nice sm towns could be stresa, varenna, bellgio hoever in italy "cute" is not an appropriate term for italys small towns of tourist interest. Cute is more for Englands cotswold villages. The dolomites are wondrful ck out Castelrotto..

Fair enough, I agree, cute isn't what I meant. Medieval is more what I mean. A feeling of the old ways....

Cittadella in the Veneto should meet your criteria; also Bassano further north. In fact, the whole area has lots of delightful little villages.

Arqua Petrarca will fit. The area around Baone has many medieval towns.
