Customs Heathrow enroute to Italy

For a American airlines flight from USA to Italy via Heathrow. I see a flight connection time of 1:40 ... is this usually enough time to clear customs and make connection? Don't know if it matters but I am an EU citizen. Thanks.

I've had that short of a connection time in Frankfort, and never had a problem. Since your luggage is transfered to your final destination, you don't need to claim it. You should simply have to go through passport control, get your passport stamped and get to your next gate.

Sorry to say, I don't have the info for Heathrow, but I can't imagine it's different. Not sure if you have to go back through security...if you do, that will take most of your 1.40 hours.

I've noticed that the passport control lines for EU citizens moves very quickly!!

If you have a through ticket and are simply changing planes at Heathrow, with baggage checked through nor carried on, you connect airside and do not go through passport control or customs. You likely will go through security.

One hour 40 minutes should be plenty of time, but it would be helpful to know your arrival and departing terminals.
