Can anyone give me any indication of how long it takes to get through customs in Venice from the US? I am trying to book a private water taxi and do not know how much time we will need to get to the taxi. We get in at 830 at night. And it is the second day of October. This year any help appreciated!

There are no scheduled nonstop flights from the US, or anywhere else in North America, that arrive in Venice at 8:30pm, so you must be connecting en route. The answer to your question will depend on that, so -- where are you connecting?

You shouldn’t need to predict the pick up time
Give them your flight number and they will monitor your flight

Assume you are transferring at Heathrow. You will probably be through immigration before your luggage gets on the carousel, so after you have your luggage, walk out the "Nothing to declare" door and you are ready to go. There is a moving walkway on the upper floor sky bridge to the water taxi dock.
