Martin, sorry but the Curreri bus doesn't go to Rome, only as far north as the Naples airport.

If you have an 11:09 International flight from FCO, I wouldn't stay in Sorrento the night before. I'd stay in Rome to reduce or eliminate the possibility of transport snags which could have you missing your flight. Sorrento, IMHO, is just too far away to take the risk.

We are planning to arrive in Rome the day before and have already booked a hotel near the airport. Is there a bus fro Sorrento to Rome. Any thoughts on how to get to Rime

Oops, sorry: I see now that you intend to return to the Rome the day before your flight. I need more coffee! :O)

I'm curious how you're getting to Sorrento in the first place? Where are you coming from before Sorrento?

Take the Circumvesuviana to Napoli Centrale then take a train to Rome.

There is a bus which travels infrequently between Sorrento and Rome. The website is only in Italian but by copy-pasting text into online translation sites, you can figure it out. It looks like it leaves on Oct. 9th at 6:00 AM from Sorrento, Corso Italia, 259/B and arrives in Rome at 9:45 at a bus terminal near Tiburtina train station. Tickets looks to be 19€ one-way with an extra 5€ pp. if buying directly from the driver in cash. You may also buy tickets online.

One the page above, enter "Sorrento" in the "Partenza" box, and "Roma" in the "arrivo" box
Choose your date from the calendar and click "cerca corsa".
The schedule will come up. Click "seleziona tariffa" for ticket prices. "CORSA SEMPLICE" is a one-way ticket.

EDITING:
From the bus station in Rome, you could take a cab to your hotel near Fiumicino, although it looks to me like Tiburtina is outside the Aurelian walls, and could run you as much as 70-80€ with luggage and heavy traffic. If you are needing to pinch pennies, there are frequent trains from Tiburtina to Fiumicino airport for 8€, and from there I'd cab to the hotel.

As you'll be in Sorrento anyway, you could locate the bus station in advance and ask any questions you might have?

I think the Marozzi bus departs from in front of the Circumvesuviana train station in Sorrento.
Which hotel are you staying near the airport. Unless you are staying at the Hilton, none are walking distance from the Fiumicino airport train station

We are staying for one month in the town of Sant Agata Sui Due Golfi. It is on the bus route from Sorrento to Positano. A charming town with many short and long hikes right from the town

Ah, OK. I only asked because sometimes the way you get TO Sorrento is the way to get FROM Sorrento.
Hope the bus works, otherwise trains to Naples are more frequent, and trains from there to Rome are reasonably frequent as well.

Hello, I have taken that bus. The only inconvenience I see, it's that only runs twice a day, 5:00 ( or 6:00 am, not sure ) and the other one in the evening.
You take it right in front of the train station.
Have a great trip!

Veronica, it only runs twice a day on some days and once on others. The day the OP wants to travel, the schedule shows that it only runs once that day.
